Markus Molitor is a driven man – some would say fanatically so. His is one of the larger wineries in the Mosel by German standards, but he has some of the best sites in the Mosel and Saar regions. In the vineyard the grapes receive all the attention they need and no small detail is overlooked. They are hand picked vineyard-by-vineyard by the same group of experienced pickers that have worked exclusively for Molitor for over 10 years. He works on low yields, and employs the use of natural, local yeasts, which leads to an expensive extended fermentation that gives the wines their full-bodied, silken texture – the Molitor badge of difference. The only German producer to score three 100 point scores in 2013 from The Wine Advocate.
