This small batch whisky was distilled in December 2016 and bottled in October 2020 and released in December 2020. Alcohol 44%. Non-chill filtered, no added colouring. Matured in a red wine cask.

Deep, dark golden honey colour. On the nose: sweet oak, raisins, cacao. On the palate: rich and ripe, sweet, broad, complex; oak and raisins, soft alcohol 'burn'. A very well-balanced whisky, delicious.

This is a 500ml bottle presented in a wooden (sliding lid) box and includes a high quality whisky glass.

1919 Distilling

It always starts with a dream. For Soren Crabb, the dream of creating his own brand of spirits, was born out of a passion for Rum and Gin. Settling into a distillery in Auckland, Soren set out to create a product that embraced New Zealand's rich history, which can be found in the company name, the botanicals he uses, and the bottle design.

Named after the year in which New Zealanders stood up for their (drinking) rights, 1919 Distilling was born. Using New Zealand's finest botanicals including home-grown organic oranges and lemons, Otago Cherries, and Manuka Honey, they've created a truly unique, world class gin. More recently 1919 have also released their first whisky, distilled in 2016, bottled in 2020.
