"This is from the exceptional Two Terraces vineyard (Mangatahi) and is 3rd year in conversion to certified organic. I was on a waiting list to get allocated a tiny bit of fruit so was happy to get some! There are only 4.8ha of Chenin planted in Hawke’s Bay in total. This is one of my longest fermenting wines (from harvest throughout winter!) and has tropical fruit notes of guava, mango with Green apple and dry razor finish."

Amoise

The Amoise wine label is a project given to the world by the wonderful and clever lady: Amy Farnsworth, a winemaker based in Hawkes Bay. It is a base for her to do some creative and interesting wines with incredible fruit from one of New Zealand's premium wine regions.

--------THE GRAPE--------

Cabernet Franc

Cabernet Franc is a red grape that isn't made into single varietal wines not nearly as much as it should. Instead it is one of the main grape varieties in the 'Bordeaux Blend' where it is blended with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon but will usually be lucky to make up more than 10-20% of the blend. It really comes into its own in the Loire Valley, specifically in Chinon and Bourgeuil, where it shows off its more herbaceous and lighter characteristic. The new world is starting to respect its diversity and stunning examples are coming out of New York to California.

Hawkes Bay

Sunny Hawkes Bay is along the eastern coast of New Zealand's north island. It is here where some of the most fruit-forward wines come from. They are known for their tropical Chardonnays and their juicy reds from the excellent Bordeaux wines to the peppery Syrahs.
