"This bottling is rich with luscious soft tannins and dark-coloured forest fruits, deftly balanced on a cord of lingering plum and raspberry delights. Expected to age with appealing composure."

--------THE PRODUCER--------

Bouchard Finlayson

Bouchard Finlayson are one of South Africa's top wineries known for their incredible Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. The winery was set up in 1989 with the idea of wanting to make legendary, distinct and complex wines from these particular grapes that would rival any French equivalent.

--------THE GRAPE--------

Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir produces some of the world's most expensive, most lauded, rarest and delicious wines. Equally it is one of the most difficult grapes to grow successfully and as a result it is quite hard to make a balanced Pinot Noir. It is historically from Burgundy, most specifically in the Cote de Nuits, so much so that people will refer to Pinot Noir as a 'Burgundy'.

--------THE REGION--------

Walker Bay

Walker Bay is one of the coolest regions in all of South Africa thanks to the cooling influences of the Atlantic Ocean and False Bay. It also has a fairly high average altitude which means that the vineyards are higher and the growing season is longer - this gives complex wines with lots of aromatic development. It is producing, without a doubt, the best Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays in the country.
