Cihuatán Indigo is a rum aged for a minimum of 8 years in Ex-Bourbon American white oak barrels. Indigo was crafted as a homage to Tlaloc, Mayan god of the rain. Legend has it that the Sleeping Woman, guardian goddess of the Cihuatán valley, would intercede on behalf of the people of Cihuatán so that Tlatloc would make the valley bloom. The name “Indigo” was inspired by the colour blue, which was crafted by the ancient Maya using the Indigo flower (añil). Blue was Tlaloc’s sacred colour and a symbol of El Salvador.
Cihuatán Indigo presents tasting notes such as Vanilla, Cappuccino, Dark Chocolate, Lemongrass, Hazelnut and Artisanal Dulce de Leche, and it can be enjoyed neat, with a mixer or in a cocktail, it is very versatile and easy to mix.
