The legendary company, Pernod, was born in 1805, with the Pernod Fils company created in Pontarlier, France, by Henri-Louis Pernod. Pernod is made through distillation and contains no liquorice, unlike Pastis. This gives it a lighter taste and makes it more easily mixable with various soft drinks.
