Duncan Savage sources grapes for this incredible dessert straw wine from a trellised block of Chenin Blanc in Piekenierskloof. After two to three weeks of sun drying, foot stomping and basket pressing occur, followed by fermentation in old 225-litre barrel and glass demijohn that can last up to a year. Made in tiny quantities, the wine offers up a profusion of fruit and floral aromatics and is fabulously luxurious and decadent. Beautifully balanced with the perfect acid - sugar symmetry.
