Springbank 10 Local Barely
Springbank 10 Year Old Local Barley - 2021 Release is a Campbeltown single malt, using barley grown within a few miles of the distillery.
Springbank Distillery is one of the only distilleries to perform every step in the whisky-making process. Famously, 100% of the barley used in Springbank is malted onsite, unlike any other distillery in Scotland.
As is well-known, Scottish whisky is usually double distilled while Irish is triple distilled. Springbank is two and a half times distilled because 20% of every batch is triple distilled, giving a spirit that has some of the weightiness and character of a double-distilled spirit, but with a bit more refinement and complexity that might be associated with triple distillation.
It has notes of campfire smoke, orchard fruits, toffee, biscuits, citrus fruits and tropical fruits and comes at a strength of 51.6% ABV.
15,000 bottles were released.
