Opens with some smokey leafy spice, followed by wood-berries, plums and cherries as well as flowery tones; on the palate, pleasantly dry, and fresh with hints of typical red fruit (see above) before it reveals its nice backbone based on its well- integrated acidity and a juvenile grip with a hint of oak in the long, spicy finish.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER:
The vineyards of the Bründlmayer family are located on the hills around the wine town of Langenlois, 70 km west of Vienna, up the Danube not far from the mouth of the Kamp river. The wooded hills of the Waldviertel shelter from the icy north-westerly winds. During the day the sun heats up the stony terraces, at night the fresh, aromatic forest air seeps through the Kamptal into the Langenloiser Arena. The coincidence of hot days and cool nights, the union of the Danube and Kamp valleys and the geological and climatic diversity of the locations characterize the wines.
