Cape Blend

Unlike Bordeaux blends, there are no fixed rules governing the grape composition of Cape Blends. Still, Pinotage— South Africa's signature grape — is usually central, making up between 20% and 70% of the blend. It is often complemented by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Shiraz (Syrah).
