"Rosé Majeur perfectly embodies the originality and delicacy of the House's wines. Composed from a dominant chardonnay, it is made with the addition of a small quantity of red wine from the best wines of the mountain of Reims. The low dosage allows for the most elegant expression of the House's style, both elegant and generous. With an average of 3 years aging on lees and a low 7 g/litre dosage, Ayala is a blend 50/40/10 Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. "
--------THE PRODUCER--------
Champagne Ayala
Champagne AYALA is one of the longest-established champagne Houses; it has been based in Aÿ, at the heart of the great champagne vineyards, since it was founded over 150 years ago. Independent and family-owned, it is still today the archetype of a great and historic House, producing top quality wines which are enjoyed throughout the world for their freshness and elegance.
--------THE GRAPE--------
Champagne Blend
It might not be obvious looking at a Champagne or any other sparkling wine made by the Methode Traditionelle method, but Pinot Noir is one of the main grapes in these treats, along with Chardonnay, which is equally important, and Pinot Meunier, to a lesser extent. Pinot Noir helps to give body and aromatics, Chardonnay gives acidity and finesse and Pinot Meunier adds further body and colour.
--------THE REGION--------
Champagne
Champagne is the famous region that makes the even more famous sparkling wines: Champagne. These wines are made via the Methode Tradtionelle process where the finished wines will undergo a secondary fermentation in bottle to create carbonation.
