Decadent Drinks presents Whisky Sponge – an 8 Year Old, 2016 Tennessee Sour Mash Bourbon. A parting treat from the Sponge!
They waited quite a while to find a Bourbon they truly liked, but here it is! A bit late, but as they say, better late than never!
This is an unnamed George Dickel Tennessee Sour Mash Bourbon, distilled in 2016. It matured in a brand new, splinter-proofing, vanillin-drenched American oak barrel, charred to perfection. After spending three years in the sweltering temperatures of Tennessee, it cooled off for a further five years in Scotland.
Decadent Drinks got hold of it and bottled it at 8 years of age, with a few degrees reduction down to their preferred bottling strength of 57.1% (or 114.2 proof in the U.S.).
The mashbill for this luscious wood smoothie is: 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley.
They love the result – it’s juicy, fruity, and goes down like warm, expensive varnish!
