"Inky, deep purple coloured blend offers youthful, incensed aromas of sweet perfume, wild dark berries, sweet spice and musk. The palate is lush, supple and juicy, showing bold sweet fruit, kirsch and sour cherry, nicely framed by freshness, good wood integration and soft tannins."

--------THE PRODUCER--------

Kaapzicht

Kaapzicht is one of South Africa's leading wine estates found in the heart of the Stellenbosch, and certainly one of the most iconic wineries of the country. You simply need to ask a handful of top wine critics who are the top players on the South African wine scene to find Kaapzicht thrown about a few times over. Their Pinotage is already recognised as one of the country's top examples.

--------THE GRAPE--------

Cinsault

Cinsaut or Cinsault is a red wine grape, whose heat tolerance and productivity make it important in Languedoc-Roussillon and the former French colonies of Algeria, Lebanon and Morocco. It is often blended with grapes such as Grenache and Carignan to add softness and bouquet.  It is one of the parents of PInotage together with Pinot Noir.  In Chile and South Africa, grapes from old vines are being used to produce 100% varietal Cinsault wines of great finesse.

--------THE REGION--------

Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch is the leading quality region in South Africa. It is home to many of the most famous estates and many of the top wines. Generally speaking it is a red wine hub with Pinotage, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon at the helm, though recently more white wines are taking over.
