"It’s a hugely complex yet entirely drinkable affair. Lime, white peach, yellow apple, earth, some yeasty complexity. Weightless intensity and all of a piece. Oxidative in style but perfectly done – the resulting vague sherry-like quality suits the wine"

--------THE PRODUCER--------

Kaapzicht

Kaapzicht is one of South Africa's leading wine estates found in the heart of the Stellenbosch, and certainly one of the most iconic wineries of the country. You simply need to ask a handful of top wine critics who are the top players on the South African wine scene to find Kaapzicht thrown about a few times over. Their Pinotage is already recognised as one of the country's top examples.

--------THE GRAPE--------

Chenin Blanc

Chenin Blanc is a versatile white grape varietal that is producing a wide range of white wines all around the world. Historically, and where it is planted most, is in the Loire Valley of northern France. Here it is famous in Anjou-Saumur particularly in Vouvray, where it is usually found as a sparkling or dry white wine.

--------THE REGION--------

Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch is the leading quality region in South Africa. It is home to many of the most famous estates and many of the top wines. Generally speaking it is a red wine hub with Pinotage, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon at the helm, though recently more white wines are taking over.
