Batch 12 of Kilkerran's acclaimed heavily peated is now available, made from a combination of 90% ex-bourbon and 10% ex-sherry cask matured stock. Opening with a thick coastal peat smoke that gives way to creamy notes of butterscotch and caramel sauce. The familiar oily and slightly grimy smoky character introduces itself on the palate with meaty notes of Iberico ham alongside brandy snaps and lemon sherbet. A rich note of honeycomb and fresh mint lifts through the salty, smoky finish.

Kilkerran by Glengyles Distillery

The whisky made at the Glengyle [glen-gyle] distillery in Campbeltown is called Kilkerran, named after the Gaelic Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain which is the original name for the settlement where Campbeltown now resides. Glengyle has a rich and interesting history, originally built in 1872 by the Mitchell's of Springbank, it produced whisky until it's closure in 1925.
