This is really a phenomenal South African wine for the money showing such delicacy yet also power. The nose boasts plenty of iodine, crushed stones, balsam, violets and hints of sweet herbs. The palate's full and exuberant with mouth-coating tannins and a long finish. 64% shiraz, 29% cabernet and 7% petit verdot. Best in 2020.

--------THE PRODUCER--------
Klein Constantia
The famous house of the Constantia region and one of the oldest estates in all of South Africa. Klein Constantia's vineyards are found among an ancient site in the foothills of Constantiaberg with incredible views across Constantia Valley and False Bay. It has been pumping out some of South Africa's finest wines since 1685. Over the course of the 18th century the 'Vin de Constance' sweet wine gained a reputation across Europe and was highly sought after. It is thanks to the Klein Constantia winery to putting South Africa on the wine-map.
--------THE GRAPE--------
Bordeaux Red Blend
This is the most famous red blend of them all: Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Just like in Bordeaux, where this blend originates from, you will almost always see Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot in the blend, too. Each grape brings its own special element to the overall wine be it acid, tannin, colour or aromatics.
--------THE REGION--------

It is surrounded by the ocean so gets cooling influences which makes it the perfect place for white grape varieties - especially aromatic grapes.
