Dusty, sweet, then positively smoky, as with roasted chestnuts from a street vendor on a winter’s morning; Or a real-wood fired pizza with fresh pesto and pine kernels. Leaves the tongue tingling. Cleaner with water, which brings a smooth mouth feel and sophisticated smoke.

--------THE PRODUCER--------

Lagavulin

From the home of great malt whisky, Islay, Lagavulin was one of the first malt distilleries there and one of seven which remain active today. The distillery dates back to 1816, when it was founded legally by John Johnston, a local farmer and distiller.

When Johnston passed away, Glasgow-based Islay merchant, Alexander Graham, acquired Lagavulin for £1,103 9s 8d. Graham upgraded the distillery’s buildings, and his successors continued to run Lagavulin. Lagaculin is known for being powerful yet ‘wonderfully rounded pleasure’.
