Margaret River icons, Leeuwin Estate, have produced a wine of true class here. A great finish to the vintage shows up here with aromas of cassis, redcurrant and chocolate. Sweet ripe fruit on the palate is well matched with toasty French oak and fine tannin.

With its warm, gentle summers, mild frost winters, ample rainfall, rich soils and consistent growing season, the region has earned an international reputation as the producer of some of Australia’s finest wines.

 

--------THE GRAPE--------

Bordeaux Red Blend

This is the most famous red blend of them all: Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Just like in Bordeaux, where this blend originates from, you will almost always see Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot in the blend, too. Each grape brings its own special element to the overall wine be it acid, tannin, colour or aromatics.

The most well known sub-region of Western Australia. It is known best for its Burgundian-styled Chardonnays, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon white wines and their decadent Bordeaux-styled red blends.
