ABOUT THE PRODUCERS
Les Alcusses is a red wine from Valencia prepared by Celler del Roure.
This winery has a presence in this region: it owns estates in the town of Moixent, southwest of the province of Valencia and the Serra Grossa, near the mountain resort town of Gandia.
Les Alcusses is a complete blend of monastrell, the most prized variety in south-western Spain, garnacha tintorera, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot and syrah.
Its grapes come from vineyards situated about 550m above sea level, grown in a variety of soils, characterized by both sandy and clay-limestone textures.
The development of this Mediterranean blend starts with a manual harvest and selection in the cellar. After complete stripping of the grape, maceration takes place for 25 days. Subsequently, the wine is fermented in stainless steel.
Finally, the wine is aged in 2 and 3 year old French oak barrels for about 4-6 months. We recommend decanting half an hour before consuming Les Alcusses.
