Our vineyards - We possess a surface of more than 850 hectares of vineyards under management of our cooperative members, being more than the 50% of them located in the so-called dry inner field. The highest percentage corresponds to the variety called País, being the first variety that came to Chile, introduced by the Spaniards during the conquest period, more than 400 years ago, what makes these vineyards unique in the entire world, because of the planting data. The intention of the Spaniards was Jesuit priests could produce wine to celebrate their masses and thus advance in the evangelization process of the native population. The País variety vineyards, were formed in head or Gobelet, without posts or wires, with a high density of plantation.

Climate
The dry inner field has a Mediterranean climate, marked, rainy and dry seasons with influence of the coast, causing a thermal oscillation perfect for the production of quality grapes.

80% of the rains are concentrated in autumn / winter, dry and rainy seasons. The annual precipitation average varies between 600 - 700 mm, so the vine plants must possess a higher efficiency, for the abstraction of water and so its performance during the season. The average minimum temperature is 4 ° C, medium average 14° C and the maximum of 27 °C.

Soil

We have a wide variety of soils, predominantly in the dry inner field the sedimentary clayey texture, on-site originated from granitic and metamorphic rocks, varying from almost flat to slightly undulating topography, on the other hand the central Valley, mainly characterized by alluvial, sandy loamy texture and flat soil topography and very good drainage.
