On the nose, it opens with a burst of bitter orange peel, mandarin zest, and crystallised ginger, softened by hints of peach and wild herbs. The palate is dry and silky, with just enough tannic grip to frame its citrusy brightness. Quince and tangerine notes glide across the tongue, balanced by a subtle quinine bitterness that adds edge and intrigue. It’s medium-bodied and refreshingly food-friendly—think grilled halloumi, spiced chickpeas, or roast chicken with preserved lemon. For those new to orange wine, this is a gateway bottle: vibrant, versatile, and utterly crushable

THE PRODUCER:

The Lyrarakis Estate is a family winery which has been producing high quality wines since 1966 with a strong focus on rare local varieties and producing single variety wines. The family is credited with the revival of two ancient Cretan varieties, Dafni and Plyto while a third “vineyard treasure”, the indigenous Melissaki, was recently added to the credits.
Surrounded by the idyllic setting of the vineyards and the Lassithi mountains we offer you the opportunity to enjoy nature and discover local varieties and wines distinguished by the uniqueness of their origin and heritage.
