"This has got guts to it, no mistake in that. From the get go we are talking baking spices with clove and cardamom coming to mind, these tie in well with the general smoky and meaty tones that ripple through this wine. It has a good, solid core of ripe black fruit flavours, too. The palate is rich and textural with just enough oak there without being overbearing. A nice long finish with black plums and liquorice the whole way along."
Bodega Marichal
Bodega Marichal has got a long history in winemaking from back in the Canary Islands off Spain's eastern coastline. The Marichal family emigrated to Uruguay in the 1910s and finally decided to set up a family winery in the late 1930s. Ever since then they have been producing a range of interesting and exciting wines which help to give Uruguay a place in the wine world.
