Marsanne

Marsanne: The Full-Bodied, Age-Worthy White

If you love the rich, textural complexity of Chardonnay but crave an eclectic new discovery, meet Marsanne. This noble white grape, the backbone of France's Northern Rhône Valley (particularly Hermitage), is known for producing full-bodied, low-acidity wines with a silky, rich mouthfeel.

Marsanne's distinctive, inspiring flavour profile evolves with age. When young, it offers complex notes of quince, ripe apricot, honeydew melon, and white peach. With time in the bottle, it develops luxurious, signature characteristics of honeysuckle, beeswax, and toasted nuts. Marsanne is a wonderfully versatile food wine, excellent with creamy sauces, roasted chicken, or rich shellfish.

We are particularly fond of the rare New Zealand examples, which thrive in the warm, maritime climate of Waiheke Island.
