"This has an incredible nose that is filled with lime and lemon citrus fruit flavours straight off the bat. This opens up to give oatmeal cookie, almond, fresh pastry and a touch of lemon cream. This is rich and full bodied on the palate but it has a generous acidity which brings it all together nicely. Pineapple, mango and yellow peaches are indicative of this Chardonnay's warmer region and climate. It has a slight mineral twang on the palate. A long and pleasant finish."
Meerlust Estate
Meerlust has long been recognised for producing world-class wines. It was set up by the Myburgh family in 1756 and is proudly in the eighth generation. This historic winery has always insisted on being in total control of the wines from the vineyard to glass. This has lead to the winery only using grapes from their large estate's vineyards. The vineyards are planted on the hills overlooking False Bay, which gives cooling ocean breezes that slowly ripen the grapes giving concentrated and complex aromas.
Chardonnay
Chardonnay is without a doubt the most known and most widely planted white grape variety around the world. It is historically home in Burgundy where it produces a more refined, mineral and poised wines all up and down the Cote de Beaune and in Chablis. Throughout the new world it gained fame in both California and Australia where it is known to produce big, rich, buttery and tropical fruit-laden white wines.
