Description

Aromas of dark fruit and rich toffee mingle with green apples and hazelnuts.  This 'Sherrywood' release from Penderyn has been matured in both ex-bourbon and ex-oloroso sherry casks. Dark fruit and toffee come together with fresh green apples and hazelnuts on the nose. The palate: a rich sweetness which moves into a refreshing dryness. Sweetness from notes of toffee and sultanas produce a long finish.

The Penderyn [pen-derran] distillery located in Brecon Beacons is the worlds only Welsh whisky, founded 106 years after the last known whisky distillery in Wales was operational. The Penderyn style is light and fruity with a touch of sweetness, owing to its maturation in ex-bourbon barrels and a short-term secondary maturation in Madeira casks.
