The gin of Summer. A small batch floral drop, inspiration taken from Wanaka's Lavender Farm. Distilled with Pacific Blue Lavender, Lemon Verbena, Fresh Chamomile, Elderflower and Gorse Flower. Experience the delight of these Central Otago flavours.

    The Story

    A Rifter is much like that of a forager or a fossicker from the early gold mining era; they explored the rifts around the hills of Arrowtown, searching for that elusive nugget. At the end of a long day, a refreshing gin was always welcomed. 

    Rifters

    Rifters are makers of small batch premium gins. Handcrafted in New Zealand using flavourful botanicals and pure New Zealand artesian water. Made to be enjoyed in good company.

    Our Bottle

    Our bottle is a nod to the foragers and fossickers who founded Arrowtown. Our search took us to the Arrowtown Museum, it was here we unearthed and discovered the great connection between Arrowtown's gold mining history and gin. A connection that was paved by gold miners over one hundred and fifty years ago. Our bottle is a representation of this Arrowtown history and the land that surrounds us, coloured to match the lakes and rivers that flow through Central Otago.

    Our Land

    The mountains, lakes and rivers that surround us have captured our imagination for years. They provide the purest ingredients used to make our gin. They also provide a place for us, locals and visitors to explore, discover and play.

    Our People

    Rifters was started by a couple of kiwi builders, Hamish & Stu who are pretty fond of gin. One day in the workshop, they decided they might have a nudge at creating their own. A couple of years later and a whole lot of trial, they figured things out. So much so, Rifters has gone on to win multiple awards around the globe.
