Génépi L'Ancienne has been produced in Chambéry for more than a hundred years, according to the recipe of Philibert Routin.
GENEPI, ALPINE PLANT WITH A UNIQUE TASTE
Genepi liqueur is obtained from the most famous aromatic plant in the Alps, genepi, belonging to the mugwort family and growing in the Alps. Commonly called "Genépi", this liqueur has become, with the rise of tourism and winter sports, emblematic of the French Alps.
AN EXCLUSIVE MACERATION AND DISTILLATION PROCESS
Created in 1893, Génépi l'Ancienne is the fruit ofcentenary know-how of the Distillery. A careful selection of the sprigs of genepi , as well as perfect control of the distillation and maceration times , make it possible to exalt the intense and subtle flavors of the plant, without bitterness.
OLD-STYLE KNOW-HOW TO PRESERVE THE AROMAS
Concerned about preserving its know-how and reviving traditional manufacturing methods, the Distillerie des Alpes brought its oldest still back into service in 1998, dating from 1901 and which has remained inactive. for over 50 years.
It is with this still, which does not rush the plants, that Génépi l'Ancienne is produced, which gives it its unique taste of traditional liqueur.
