Tarot Card:
The High Priestess, the moniker for the Pinot Noir, depicts the archetype of the divine feminine. She is a mediator and represents the duality of nature; she serves as the third pillar between the masculine and feminine, good and evil, negative and positive. She believes that both pillars are equal and there is knowledge to be learned in both worlds. She wears the crown of Isis which can mean that she is a believer of magic. She represents someone that is intuitive, and beginning to open to her or his spirituality. Meditation, prayer and new spiritual work is indicated.
Tasting Notes:
A light, juicy and delicate Pinot Noir bursting with blueberries and boysenberries with savoury, fine tannins. This wine is a true labour of love, inspired by my time working with Jean-Baptiste and Florien at Les Bottes Rouges in the Jura.
Winemaking Notes:
Biodynamically grown by The Wrekin vineyard in Marlborough. Hand picked and hand destemmed. Clones: 115/777. Wild fermented in stainless steel. Daily syphoning of juice kept the cap wet without heavy extraction. Matured in old puncheons for 18 months. Certified organic fruit. Unfined. Unfiltered. Vegan. Minimal sulphites added at bottling. Bottled under cork and wax.
