Winemaking:

A new wine this year! Hand-picked Chardonnay. 100% hand destemmed and fermented in stainless steel. Pressed off after fermentation (one month on skins). Matured in stainless steel.

Tasting notes:

Bone dry with texture and weight. Phenolics come through giving the illusion of tannins. Cleansing acidity followed by a mouth fulling refreshing finish. Think stonefruit salad with a citrus finish. Easy to drink but also savour. Less ‘vin de soif’ and more thoughtful, this wine pairs well with food. Maybe the Negroni of wine?

ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Ashleigh Barrowman has spent the last 10 years making wine for some of the most prominent organic producers – She has worked alongside Patrick Sullivan (Aus), Hans Herzog (NZ), Vino di Anna (Sicily), Domaine Labet (Jura), Jean-Jacques Morel (Burgundy) & Les Bottes Rouges (Jura). After years of being a travelling winemaker, she now farms the Wrekin Vineyard and crafts distinct single-vineyard, single- varietal wines that truly represent time and place.
