The palate is powerfully structured and impeccably linear, delivering a surge of cassis, boysenberry, and mulberry skin framed by fine, saturated tannins that feel architectural yet silk edged. Mid-palate density of dark fruits is remarkable infused with black tea, sandalwood, bitter chocolate, and warm spices with a firm spine of acidity that keeps the wine energised and pure. The finish is long, complex and mineral, tapering through dark fruit, savoury herbs, and charred oak accents. A vintage of exceptional concentration, precision, and longevity, Coleraine 2024 promises decades of evolution. The wine will improve with a few hours in the decanter before enjoying, especially if opened before 2030.
