"It has a very pretty nose of dried flowers, that clay-like minerality. This wine has lovely richness on the tongue with some persistent sweet tannins on the finish; with its structure, this wine could last for a decade in your cellar; lovely balance and structure."
Trabucchi d'Illasi
Ever since the early 1920s this historic terroir in Valpolicella has been cultivated. The ancient stone that fills the vineyard along with the exposure and microclimate of the vineyard make it capable to produce excellent wines made from the traditional Valpolicella grapes: Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. The Trabucchi d’Illasi winery has now been certified organic for over 15 years.
Valpolicella Blend
Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara are the main red grape varietals that make up the wines of Valpolicella. Each grape, along with some other secondary grapes such as Corvinone, all have specific elements be it tannin, colour, aromatics or acidity that they bring to the blend. Each producer in the region will use a certain ratio of the grapes to help create their house style.
