Wednesday, 25th OCT 2024 [6:30pm-8pm] Whisky 101 Tasting: With Frankie G (Our Whisky Specialist)
Didn’t make it to the first couple tastings? Do you feel like you missed out? Well, you’re in luck! On Wednesday the 25th of October, from 6:30pm to 8pm the Whisky Wizard himself will be holding another Whisky 101 session making our way around the great Whisky Nation of Scotland. We'll be traveling all throughout the country, discovering what makes Scotch whisky so unique, and how diversely the spirit can be expressed, depending on where in the country it is made and aged.
Indulge yourself in some wonderfully warm and inviting whiskies from all over Scotland.
Glenmorangie 10 from the Highlands, bursting with soft candied citrus fruit and honeyed malt. A classic dram that’s sure to please even the biggest whisky skeptic.
Glenallachie 12 from Speyside, cocoa and dark fruits mingle together, with a warming blend of honey and cinnamon to tantalize your nose jumping from the glass.
Lindores Abbey ‘Cask of Lindores’ from the Lowlands, imagine drinking a glass of decadent chocolate cake, with notes of thick molasses, chocolate, and stewed berries.
Kilkerran 12 from the coastal hamlet of Campbelltown, Scotland’s smallest region, a stunning citrus forward whisky with a strong chocolate backbone and a touch of smoke and salt. You’ve sat, relaxing by the fire on Christmas Eve, eating chocolate oranges.
Kilchoman Machir Bay, from the rugged isle of Islay. The archetypal peat smoke dances out of the glass, well accompanied by fresh fruits and a delicate floral quality that ekes its way through the peat bogs.
And lastly, we mustn’t forget the humble blend. Gone are the days of the cheap scotch your grandfather kept in his liquor cabinet; Indulge in the expertly and meticulously crafted Artists Blend from Compass Box. The lads in Glasgow are making blends cool again!
If this sounds like an interesting proposition, make sure to secure your ticket quickly, they’ll be selling out fast! Hors d'oeuvres will be provided and a discount will be available on the whiskies tasted if purchased later on the night. Keep your eyes peeled as more tastings will be coming up, focusing on more niche aspects of whisky and lesser known whisky regions! (Whiskies are subject to change, but will be of equal value and taste.)
Looking for Christmas Function ideas? We also offer more personalised private tastings. These can be either hosted in our Tastings Room, or we can travel to do on site tastings!
