"A really nice Pinot Noir at a great price point! There is a spicy raspberry flavour on the nose which is just delicious which is added to with some plums and red cherry flavours. Just a tickle of oak but really this Pinot Noir lies in the fruit-forward camp with lovely zippy acidity."

--------THE PRODUCER--------

Windrush

We are second generation organic producers. Callum’s family have been farming organically since the late 90’s originally with sheep and beef in Otago and now viticulture in Marlborough. In 2014 we purchased a small property in Renwick and set about planting a Chardonnay vineyard. We decided to plant Chardonnay because its a personal favourite and not a variety we have on any of our family owned properties. This vineyard has become an obsession and it has given us a great amount of satisfaction to get it to a point where we are able to release this wine.

--------THE GRAPE--------

Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir produces some of the world's most expensive, most lauded, rarest and delicious wines. Equally it is one of the most difficult grapes to grow successfully and as a result it is quite hard to make a balanced Pinot Noir. It is historically from Burgundy, most specifically in the Cote de Nuits, so much so that people will refer to Pinot Noir as a 'Burgundy'.

--------THE REGION--------

Marlborough

New Zealand's answer to Napa Valley, Marlborough accounts for the majority of New Zealand's vines and wine productionOver 75 percent of the vineyards are planted with Sauvignon Blanc and it is where this varietal really shines. The region is also home to New Zealand’s small sparkling-wine industry, using the traditional method to vinify Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
