It is not uncommon to find German Pinot Blanc, which comes along with seemingly artificial fruit and lacks tension due to moderate acidity. The VDP.Gutswein from the Rhine-Hessian white wine whisperer Philipp Wittmann does not follow any commercial trends and presents the Pinot Blanc grape variety in a particularly unadulterated manner. And even if this wine is "only" an estate wine, its quality impresses immediately. The Pinot Blanc was produced according to complex biodynamic principles, strictly selected and mostly fermented in old wooden barrels.
