"A subtle note of toasty-oak is yet to integrate into the potent morello cherry strewn bouquet. Further complexity of graphite, salami and bacon notes balance an intense floral lift, whilst whiffs of mint and chocolate finally drift slowly through to a supple, layered palate. A lacy, sweet-fruited cassis-cocktail stuns the palate all wrapped up with rich but etched tannins on the finish."

The intention from the outset was to focus on delivering a quality product that could hold its own in the company of the world’s finest wines. Since its launch, Ernie Els Wines has won plaudits and many prestigious awards around the world and the team continues to make a big impact on both the South African and international wine markets.

--------THE GRAPE--------

Bordeaux Red Blend

This is the most famous red blend of them all: Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Just like in Bordeaux, where this blend originates from, you will almost always see Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot in the blend, too. Each grape brings its own special element to the overall wine be it acid, tannin, colour or aromatics.

Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch is the leading quality region in South Africa. It is home to many of the most famous estates and many of the top wines. Generally speaking it is a red wine hub with Pinotage, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon at the helm, though recently more white wines are taking over.
