Grgich Hills Estate

Many might be aware of the famous “Judgement of Paris” tasting of 1976. It was this very same tasting that put the Grgich wines on the map in many ways. While they were not yet an established winery, that came about in 1977, Mike Grgich was the winemaker of the winning Chardonnay (from Chateau Montelena) of the Paris tasting. Quickly after California was gaining heat after the tasting he got under way with his sister to create the now famed Grgich Hills Estate. Whilst their Chardonnay is what put them on the map, their excellent wines have been served in multiple state dinners and in many households across America.
