This Chilean Pisco has been aged for three years in American (Bourbon) oak barrels.
Pisco MISTRAL Nobel Reservado 40° is an aged and refined drop and, in our opinion, could hold its own against any high quality whiskey.
The spirits in this blend come from Pisco Mistral's private reserves, having been aged for 10 years, and blended with younger liquors.
The primary use of varieties Pedro Ximénez and Austria Muscat, which are grapes with fewer terpenoids, allows the pisco to become strongly impregnated with the characteristics of American (Bourbon) barrels. Deep amber in colour, it reveals a perfumed and expansive bouquet featuring notes of Jasmine tea, a touch of cardamon and dried citrus fruits, together with loquat and pink grapefruit. Rounded on the palate, there is a clear touch of Muscat, dried apricots and dates. In the long finish, the wood and a strong finish can be discerned."
It is recommended as a digestif, better served at a temperature between 12 and 14ºC, with a number of pairing options:
* Los Tilos Smoked Cheese
* Mocca Bitter Chocolate by Roggendorf
* Chocolate caramel praline with orange almonds and a bitter cover of 56% cacao by Damien Mercier.
* Habano cigars Specially Selected by Ramón Allones.
* Habano Regios cigars by Saint Luis Rey
