"This wine has a mature and spicy nose. As it opens up black and red forest fruits combine with toasty spice and oak. Rich dried fruit on the palate with great length and depth of flavour."

--------THE PRODUCER--------

Artiga Fustel

Pamela Geddes is the flying winemaker at Artiga Fustel, based in Catalonia, the autonomous region in northeast Spain.  Wines are handcrafted from purchased grapes. AF have long-term contract with our friends/grape-growers.

--------THE GRAPE--------

Garnacha

The Rhone Red Blend is often known as the GSM blend whereby the three main grapes are Grenache, Syrah and Mouvedre. In actuality there can be up to 13 grapes made into this blend, by law, in the southern Rhone Valley. You can have lighter and more floral versions of the Rhone Red Blend or have bolder and oakier versions depending where in the world it is made. They are most popular in France, California and Australia.

--------THE REGION--------

Penedes

Penedes is the vast region in northeastern Spain. The fair majority of the Pendes' claim to fame it from the "Champagne of Spain": Cava. Cava is a sparkling wine that is made in exactly the same way as Champagne (bottle-fermented/methode traditionelle) just with Spanish grape varietals. Those white grape varietals are: Xarel-lo, Parellada and Viura and Tempranillo and Garnacha can be used for the roses.
