The Producer

Chateau Beau-Sejor Becot has a very long, winding history. It first began its life as a vineyard in the Middle Ages, under the monks of the Church of St-Martin. It was renamed to “Peycoucou” by the Geres family when they acquired it in the 17th century, and again renamed to “Beausejour” by General Jacques de Carle when it was transferred to his family in 1787 by marriage.

The estate was split into two when Pierre-Paulin Ducarpe divided it between his two children when he acquired it. The two halves were renamed “Beausejour-Duffau-Lagarrosse,” and “Beausejojur-Dr-Fagouet.” Its present name was given by Michel Becot, who purchased it in 1969. It has been under the wonderful leadership of his sons since 1985.
