Beautiful deep dark color.
The nose, still discreet, reveals beautiful roasted notes. Aromas of very ripe red fruits follow, such as fresh cherries in particular.
In the mouth the notes remain delicate. The wine gradually takes on its full amplitude while keeping a beautiful harmony. The sweetness of the finish is characteristic of this year 2019.

About the Producer

The second wine of Château Duhart-Milon is selected from the same bases as the great wine. These are generally vines that are less old than the average for the vineyard.
Moulin de Duhart has characteristics close to a great wine with, however, less aging potential since its aging in barrels is shorter.
It should be drunk younger than its elder. The origin of the name comes from the old presence of a mill on the plateau of Carruades, adjoining the vineyard of Duhart-Milon.

Vintage 2019

  • Merlot 58%,
  • Cabernet Sauvignon 42%

At Duhart-Milon, the ideal moment to start harvesting our Merlots planted on gravel arrived on September 19th. Those on clays could wait a few more days. This year again, we had a good complementarity between our Merlots on gravel (riper) and those on clay (cooler and later).
This allowed us to seek in this grape variety which makes up a third of our blend, a beautiful maturity while retaining a nice fresh fruit. Our Cabernet Sauvignon vines seemed to have anticipated the heat much better this year, allowing them not to suffer from ripening blockages in July despite the heat wave and then to have a gradual development of the berries during the more temperate month of August. The light rains in mid-September were very beneficial to accompany the end of maturation in the Duhart-Milon gravel, drier than those of the Lafite plateau.
