"It is extremely pale green/yellow, almost clear in colour. The aroma is of lifted lemongrass with some clean mineral characters. Fruit is dominant on the palate with a lean, light structure and driven acid finish. This Semillon is the ideal balance of fruit and acidity. Truly an exciting Semillon that will reward early drinking or cellaring for years to come."

--------THE PRODUCER--------

Cirillo Estate

The Cirillo family moved to the small district of Light Pass in 1970. Vincent Cirillo became the custodian some exceptional vineyards that were planted in 1848; today it is noted to be the oldest surviving and producing Grenache and Semillon parcels in the world. Their prized fruit went to well‐known producers; Rockford, Peter Lehmann, St. Hallet and Torbreck.

--------THE GRAPE--------

Semillon

Semillon is a white grape varietal that hails from Bordeaux, France. Here it is best known for being blended with Sauvignon Blanc, often being the main component in the blend, where it makes crisp white wines as well as the luscious sweet wines of Sauternes. It is in the Hunter Valley of Australia where is has found a home as an age-worthy dry white wine. You can expect waxy, lemon and stonefruit flavours off of Semillon wines, sweet or dry.

--------THE REGION--------

Barossa Valley

Barossa Valley is one of the most well known regions across Australia as well as being one of the most established. It is red wine country with some of the most concentrated red wines of the world being produced here. Shiraz is king followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - recently Grenache and Mouvedre are finding more popularity.
