Staete Landt ‘Annabel’ Sauvignon Blanc has an intensely aromatic classic nose with ripe nectarines, tropical and citrus characters. The palate has a soft velvety texture with abundant peaches and grapefruit flavours. Chalky & slaty characters, rounded off in an elegant mineral finish. The subtle oak character gives the wine fantastic palate weight and texture.

This wine is drinking well from now onwards but will increase in complexity and reward cellaring for up to 5 years.

The Producer

Staete Landt is a boutique family owned and operated Wine Company. With a team of highly passionate wine geeks. They are highly committed to their land, vines and wines. All Staete Landt wines are 100% Estate Grown. They strongly believe in terroir driven complex wines with character, great balance and structure. Building a well-known icon brand for fine wine is the long-term commitment. This means they choose sustainable methods and techniques in the vineyard as well in the winery, serious commitment towards precious resources such as land, water and vines.

Staete Landt counts as one of the older established and most accomplished boutique Marlborough wine companies. Owned and founded by husband and wife Ruud Maasdam and Dorien Vermaas, this vineyard in the heart of Rapaura’s “Golden Mile” is unique in its layout. Varieties are carefully spread in 24 different combinations across the soil profiles of the vineyard. Each of the 24 is treated as a single-vineyard parcel and riesling, sauvignon blanc, syrah, chardonnay, pinot noir, pinot gris and viognier are planted. Ruud makes all the Staete Landt wines (and also the Map Maker series) from the estate-grown fruit of this highly complex vineyard.
