"The Tapiz Chardonnay is made from high quality grapes grown in vineyards in La Consulta in Tupungato, Uco Valley that are 1300m above sea level.
The soils here are sandy, alluvial and stony which means they are well drained and the altitude means there is a great daily temperature range ensuring that the fruit ripens well and a little more slowly in the cooler evenings.
Most of the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks and 6% is both fermented and aged in French oak of second and third year use and none of it undergoes malolactic fermentation thus retaining the refreshing natural grape acidity in the wine. It has an intense aroma and flavour of white peaches and pears with delicate vanilla overtones that are well balanced and linger on the palate."
