When you think of whisky, which origin comes to mind?  Scotland? Ireland? The US and Bourbon? Or Canadian Rye or Japanese Whisky?  There are at least 40 other countries around the world that produce whisky on a commercial scale.  It’s time to shine the spotlight on some of those other countries, don’t you agree?

The beauty of whisky is its simplicity; all you need are grains, water, and time, and you can make whisky virtually anywhere on this globe.  Rye and Corn are two of the other popular grains used, other than barley.

Join our own whisky wizard, Frankie Gototweski, who will take you on a whisky adventure, exploring six whiskies from around the world, and delving into the stoires behidn them.

We’ll travel to the frigid north of Finland with malted rye from Kÿro, to the malts of Amrut from tropical Karnataka in India; single-malts from the forests of Taiwan with Kalavan; experimental barrel finishes from Antipodea with Aussie producer, Starward; and, our own, home-grown Star: Thomson Whisky. Finally we'll travel to Central America, tasting corn whisky from the ancient heritage corn varieties of Mexico from Juan del Campo.

There are many hidden gems from countries you’d never expect.  Discover the Wider World of Whisky and expand your palate, you never know what (or whom) you'll fall in love with next.
