'Contrada' comes from the Latin word 'contra' which means the the town or street opposite. In Puglia this is typically of a road outside the urban area, starting from the main street and giving its name to the whole neighbourhood. These portions of land are usually bordered by natural boundaries, such as olive tree rows and are identified by their Contrada name.

This wine is juicy, full of dark red fruit and immensely quaffable.

Anselmi is without a doubt the best winery in Soave - though are technically not part of Soave. Roberto Anselmi took over his father's estate in the 1970s and decided to shake up the wine world by making wines full of flavour - a factor that was, and still is, often lacking in most wines made of the Gargenaga grape in the region of Soave. Anselmi's wines are now highly lauded and sought after the world over.
